Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
You are not smart enough to go to college and construction is not a career for woman.
How I responded:
I have always had to work harder than my peers but when I set a goal and push myself, I found success. I taught myself that failure can be overcome if I learn from them and try again. I ask lots of questions when I do not understand and I take extra time when needed to make sure my work is correct. NEVER GIVE UP!!
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Ask lots of questions when you don't understand. Be prepared to work hard to meet goals, learn from your failures, and celebrate every milestone in your journey.
