Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
Is this path really a good idea?
How I responded:
My friends and family were all very supportive of me. The discouragement I faced primarily came from myself and the idea that the career path I chose wasn't the "normal" one that society promotes. But I had gone to two years of traditional college prior and it wasn't a good fit for me. While I didn't know many people who had gone this route, I knew that it was something I was really interested in, so I just worked through the anxiety and kept at it.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
It was a bit of a struggle to work out my own time management when I started out. I was used to being on a defined schedule set by someone else. It took practice & self-motivation but now setting my own schedule is one of my favorite parts of my job!
