How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
It doesn't sound like Amanda is in a hurry to be done with school.
How I responded:
I needed to take a year off to work between my BA and the credential program. I was a substitute teacher in three different districts while I regained energy for another year of school, paid off credit card debt, and got married. This also gave me time to study for and pass the CSET the first time I took it! Subbing gave me classroom experience and the confidence to be a teacher. Plus I made new friends among the teachers and reconnected with some of my former teachers.
