Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Peers:
I have heard that you need a Ph.D. or that these positions are very hard to find.
How I responded:
Get your graduate degree and a lot of experience. Also, do some research and present at local and national conferences. This prepares you to teach, and it demonstrates interest in performing research and sharing it with others. Meet people. Stand out. It can happen.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I am ADHD. I was a lousy student in school. However, when I found my passion (psychology/special education), I found meaning in my life. It motivated me to do well.
