My path in life has been direct
1.
In high school I knew I wanted to be an ag teacher.
2.
Choosing the college was the hardest part. I didn't know the best college for me. Both my high school ag teachers graduated from Tarleton so that's where I thought I needed to go.
3.
Decided, at the last minute, to go to Texas Tech. The atmosphere just felt better and all professors were so personable.
4.
Tech helped to prepare me for interviews and was very helpful at helping me choose the perfect job for me.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Teachers:
I heard teachers don't make that much money.
How I responded:
It's not about the money, it's about the passion you get to share with students who may have not found their passions yet. It also gives you a chance to change someone's life by providing guidance and a listening ear. Sometimes that is all someone needs.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
If you are dedicated and driven to earn a degree, there are resources out there to help you pay for it. It may take extra work on your part but in the end you will be rewarded with a degree that you love and a career you enjoy waking up for each day.
