Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
The negative noise came from within. It said not to speak up in meetings or in work groups in fear of being wrong or having a stupid idea.
How I responded:
Step outside your comfort zone. You will be surprised how many people will want to hear your opinion or thoughts. You never know, your idea may be the one they go with! And if not, that is ok.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I did not grow up with a lot of money. I worked two jobs in high school and worked while in college and still had to get student loans. I recently paid off my undergraduate loan and I will say it was worth it.
This was my motivator. I wanted to do this for myself and my family.
