My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
I started college as an engineering major.
2.
Then I realized that the only thing I liked about the engineering curriculum was the math.
3.
So I changed my major to math, and noticed that I also enjoyed the computer science side of math.
4.
I added a second major, Management Information Systems.
5.
Upon graduation, I still didn't know what I wanted to do with my life.
6.
So I enrolled in graduate school for an MBA to get more business-specific education.
7.
After college, I was tired of living in a snowy state, so I decided to look for jobs out west.
8.
I was hired out of college by Deloitte in Las Vegas... and the rest is history.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
Don't move across the country for your first job; it will be too expensive to live alone and you'll be too far from friends and family.
How I responded:
Listen to your head and heart and when it comes to accepting your first (or any) job. Even if you have to look further than your hometown or ideal city. You will know when the fit is right for you - the company culture, the type of work, etc.
