I finished school and realized it wasn't for me.

Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
You don't want to be a teacher, you wont get paid enough in this school district.
How I responded:
If someone is giving you advice on what to do, it's because of situations they have been in or seen. Just remember that everyone's situations are different, and you can create your own path and your own solutions. Your outcome can be different, and you should pursue whatever makes you happy, even if some people don't agree.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I was in an abusive relationship all throughout the time I was in cosmetology school and living in a different state than my family. I didn't have anyone there for me. I realized I was the only one who could help myself, and I left.
I have severe asthma, and a number of other health issues, even making it hard for me to walk some days. You need a strong support system, whether that be friends, family, or doctors, to help you get through it.
