Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
You don't have a college degree, you will not get hired for important jobs or will lose to someone who does have a degree.
How I responded:
I worked hard and went for it. I built relationships with management and asked for advice. Applied for open positions and worked my way up.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
My family is poor and bad with money, this made me personally budget better and work hard, sometimes more than one job so that I could pay rent, saved my money and was so proud when I bought my first house.
