My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
I was a Marine for seven years.
2.
After I got out of the military, my "plan A" was to pursue law enforcement.
3.
Once I got to know what it was actually about, I didn't really enjoy law enforcement.
4.
I had taken up barbering in the Marines, so I decided to pursue that instead.
5.
I put myself through barbering school and got my license.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Myself:
You're not a Marine anymore; you don't matter as much.
How I responded:
When you're fighting overseas, you put on that uniform and you feel like you're a superhero; then, you come back, and you're not getting that adrenaline rush, and you don't feel like you're making a difference anymore. For a long time, I just wanted to go back. Getting over that took some therapy and support from my friends, who taught me to "stay in my lane"; if you don't let other people get to you, and you just worry about yourself and you keep doing what you want to do, you'll be okay.
