Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
You're not going to make a lot of money, and New York is an expensive city.
How I responded:
I knew that I would not have a glamourous or well-paid career as a dancer. I both kept my expectations about where I could live / what I could afford reasonable and found a supplementary career that supported me and did not keep me from rehearsals, auditions, or performing.
