I have to scan it an hour before my flight departure. I have to brief with my coworkers (we talk about safety related issues if any) then we check all the emergency equipment on the airplane to make sure things are up to date. Then we start boarding 45 min before flight departure. We greet passengers and assist those who need it. Then we close the door, make our safety demo, check seat belts and make sure electronics are off. Then we take off. After we reach 10,000 ft, we start our service.

Customer service is a must. You must be willing to interact with people on a daily basis. Learn to listen and have patience. Make sure you are able to lift 40 lbs or so (thats how much the windows on the aircraft weigh) in case you have to open it in an emergency. Must be able to read and understand English. Must be able to adapt to different work schedules and times. Sometimes I work all night from 11pm-9am. Other times I work a regular schedule. Must be ok with working weekends initially.
